SCARS YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

The Scars Youth Ambassador Program* elevates and celebrates the diverse voices of youth, ranging in ages from 9 to 17 years old, by providing support for a national network of passionate and dedicated youth volunteers. The Scars Foundation Youth Ambassadors actively advocate for essential youth resources and engage in various activities throughout the year. They work to build a strong sense of community among one another, spread awareness of the important mission of The Scars Foundation, offer a welcoming and safe space where individuals can share their unique Scars stories, and raise awareness about the extensive resources that The Scars Foundation has carefully compiled for those in need.

*Scars Foundation encourages youth ambassadors to log their volunteerism towards community service hours.

SHARE STORIES

By sharing your own personal stories and mental health challenges, you will help inspire others to share theirs. This will not only start the process of your own healing journey, but also contribute to the healing process of others who may be going through similar experiences. Engaging in this shared narrative is where we start to create communities.

Create community

By creating a strong and welcoming community, you also effectively build a solid and reliable support system. This is a key and crucial step in assuring others that they are not alone in their thoughts, feelings, and struggles. A supportive community will lead to individuals feeling empowered and understood. Additionally, it provides them with a safe and nurturing space to express themselves openly, and seek help when needed. It may also deeply inspire being an advocate for mental help.

Advocate

Advocate effectively by using both your voice and actions to spread awareness about the importance and numerous benefits of taking care of your mental health. It is essential to encourage open conversations and to promote understanding regarding these vital issues.

Respect youth voices

The powerful impact that our youth can have on the mental health community is incredible and far-reaching. Their willingness to openly discuss topics that are often difficult and stigmatized, shows their true bravery and resilience. This will not only inspire their peers, but also encourage adults to use their voices to share their own experiences as well as help spread resources.

Spread resources

We invite all youth ambassadors to actively spread our trusted resources and comprehensive tool kits among their diverse communities. These important resources are not only a key factor in promoting mental well-being, but they are also truly effective in supporting our personal mental health journeys. By sharing this valuable information, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
